Everybody’s home and family are different, and there are many kinds of disasters. So how do you prepare? By practicing three ‘All Hazards’ activities. Every disaster requires a way for the family to communicate if cell phones and electricity goes down. You also need to provision your home to hunker down during a power outage, and everybody needs an evacuation plan. That’s it! You can do this! To get started, here is a link to a Family Communication form that you can modify for your needs. Check out ready.gov for in-depth information on All Hazards preparation. Or attend the NAPO University virtual class called Home Disaster Preparedness. For more information about NAPO University, go to https://www.pathlms.com/napo.
